Sometimes
working under the pseudonym, Johnny Wilde, Jesse has been making
films for ten years. His last film before Blackout was Sex
& Lies in 1998 which, except for a trailer, was destroyed
in a flood later that same year. All of his early work, except for
Frank's Wild Years was destroyed in that flood. Taking that
as a cue, he took a break from film and began directing plays. These
included Hamlet, and Look Back in Anger, for the New
Haven Theater Company. During this time he was also taking photographs
and painting pictures. He and Nic Watson had been following the
Stuckism movement since 1999. With the permisssion of Stuckism co-founder
Charles Thomson, they formed the New Haven Stuckist Art Group in
2001. This led to the establishment in 2002 of the New Haven Stuckists
Film Group.
